Hi,

yep, sure I understand you. At the beginning of your trip your body is “there” but your thoughts are still “here”. For me this is the hardest moment, this is when I look for the contact quite intensively. Plus other important thing – time flies by completely differently. You have more free time, no daily duties, your everyday rituals. You have lived 3 days and think it’s sooo long, but people here just went to work few times, did shopping and maybe don’t even have anything interesting to talk about. I think that longing will pass away soon and will be back in 2 or 3 weeks again, when you are starting to feel that it’s not ordinary trip, normal vacation, but just you life on the road. That moment is beautiful. And that’s why longer trips are totally different experience than even few  shorter. I guess, you will get used to.

And it’s a challenge, isn’t it?

I had the same. But I was used to “single – alone – independent” trips – but still, before almost three months in Asia, I went alone  for only two weeks to Scotland. But I am independent most of my life, so I am super used to it, to organize everything by myself, keep that control, manage everything. I can be quite talkative and intense but I can also take care of myself, be only with myself for a very long time. And not get bored.  When I travel by myself I like to look at people. I can just sit on some bus station for two hours and just watch the world around me. Sit on a bench and stare. Single travelling it’s hard job and kind of art, I think. Because when you’re just by yourself, you start to think about life in general. And you need to handle those thought by yourself as well. But the truth is – we are alone whole life.
